Hello Families of Second Graders, Welcome to the last week of August and a four day school week!  Your kids have really jumped into their learning and both our faith formation and academics are in full swing.  Please continue reading to discover what will be transpiring in our classroom and right here at ACS for this upcoming week. Language Arts    Spelling ~ Long Vowels Grammar ~ Types of Sentences Writing ~ Narrative Writing Target Skill ~ Author's Purpose, Compare & Contrast, Analyze/Evaluate Religion ~ The students will continue learning about "Our Heavenly Father." The students will learn that God made us. The students will pray throughout each school day. If time permits, the students will learn about the liturgical calendar of the Catholic Church. Hello Families of Second Graders! Welcome to our third week of school!  I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the families that attended our curriculum night.  Your support and efforts are dearly appreciated.  Your children are getting into the groove of the second grade and we are already learning so much.  Last week, we began learning about the blessed trinity during our formal religion class, we also completed our beginning of the year math and reading assessments, the children also experienced their very first Spelling test, and we began studying the seven continents and five oceans!  Wow!  What a full and beautiful week!  Here's what will be taking place for this upcoming week in the second grade.  Please note that the students will be dismissed at noon on Friday, August 25th.   Language Arts Spelling ~ Short Vowels o,u,e Grammar ~ Simple Sentences Writing ~ Narrative Writing (Friendly Letters) Target Skill ~ Compare and Contrast, Unders

Hello Families! Welcome to our new 2017-2018 school year!  This is our second grade newsletter!  Each week this newsletter will be updated, so that you may stay up to date as to what will be transpiring both in the second grade classroom and right here at Annunciation Catholic School.   In the second grade, it is critical to foster organizational skills.  In order to assist the students in becoming organized learners, every content area will be color coded.  Each subject will have the following designated colors: Language Arts ~ Purple Religion ~ Pink Math ~ Black Social Studies ~ Blue Science ~ Green This color coding system will also be utilized in the weekly newsletter to effectively communicate what learning will be taking place in each subject area for the week.
