The Second Grade Ranch

Hello Families of Second Graders, Welcome to the third week of advent.  A week that represents the gift of joy!  Here's to a joyous week that lies ahead.  Please know that your children will not have their routinely scheduled learning lessons.  Instead, this week will be spent preparing for our wonderful "music concert" that will take place on Wednesday evening,  faith based learning lessons, and enjoying enrichment activities that center around the theme of Christmas.  Our class Christmas party will take place on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until around 11:30 a.m.  May you all have a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!  Please continue reading to discover all of the events that will be taking place this week. Hello Second Grade Families, Welcome to the second week of Advent.  This week, please bring in your pajama donations for foster children that are in need.  The students will earn a pajama day at school if they are able to collect 200 sets of new pajamas!  The pajama drive ends on December 19th .  Thank you in advance for all of your efforts in spreading Christmas cheer to children who are in need this season.  Please continue reading to discover what else will be transpiring this week in the second grade classroom and right here at ACS. Hello Families of Second Graders, Welcome to the season of Advent.  As we are now preparing our hearts and souls for the birth of Christ, I'd like to lighten the homework requirements so that families may have more time together to enjoy this most holy season.  So for the next few weeks, your children will not have their regular homework assignments.  Instead, your children will only need to study for their weekly Spelling tests.  I will send home the list of words and the list of high frequency words for each week.  This skill page will have the children's weekly reading log on it, however, the reading log will be optional.  This is a simple gift from me to you, as I believe that it is important to savor this blessed time together.  Please continue reading to discover what else will be transpiring both in the second grade and right here at ACS.
