Is it May?

Hello Families of Second Graders, Can you believe that we are entering the month of May?  Spring fever is in the air and the children are greatly anticipating their Spring Music concert, writing their research report on their assigned famous scientist, and experiencing the crowning of Mary, our Blessed Mother on May 1st.  It is going to be a beautiful, yet quickly passing month.  Please continue reading this newsletter to discover all that will be taking place in the second grade and right here at ACS school. Spelling ~ Words with oo Grammar ~ What is an adverb? Writing ~ The students will experience Opinion Writing that relates to our story of the week. Informative Writing (Research Report ~ Famous Scientists!!!) Spring is in the air!

Hello Second Grade Families, The season of Spring is in full swing and the kids are beginning to anticipate the gift of summer.  To assist the kids in staying focused, our second grade homework has looked quite different for the last two weeks.  Please make sure that your child completes their biography reading on their assigned scientist.  Once your child completes their book, they will need to complete the biographical reading log that was sent home last Monday.  All of the reading logs will be due on Thursday, April 26th.  On Friday, the students will begin writing their research reports in class and will need their reading logs to assist them.  Also, please have your child return the book that they borrowed from our classroom library, as I will need the books for the students next year.  Please continue reading to discover what will be taking place both in the second grade and right here at ACS. April Showers Bring May Flowers!

Hello Families of Second Graders, April is in full swing and your children jumped right back into their learning last week!  The students were so excited to begin their research on a famous scientist.  Please know that the only homework that your child will have this week is to read nightly about their famous scientist and to complete a biographical reading log that will be sent home on Monday, April 16th .  The reading log will be due on Friday, April 20th.   The only other homework assignment that your children will have is to study and prepare for their weekly Spelling test that will take place on Friday, April 20th. Happy Easter Second Grade Families and Welcome Back! I hope that you and your families had a very blessed Easter and a wonderfully relaxing Spring Break!  May the resurrection of Christ inspire us all to work towards entering God's kingdom through faith, hope, and love!  Please continue to read our weekly newsletter to discover all that will be taking place this week in our second grade classroom and right here at ACS. Homework: To end our school year, the second grade homework will be uniquely different.  This week, your children will not have any homework to assist them in reacclimatizing to being back at school.  However, on Thursday, the students are going to be assigned a scientist that contributed to our world in which to study.  The children will need to find a book to read on their famous scientist.  Please know that the children are able to check out books from our classroom library, as well as, our school library.  The students may also choose to purchase a book fro
