Happy October to all of our Second Grade Families, I'd like to begin this newsletter with a great big thank you for attending your child's parent-teacher conferences.  What a blessing it was to have had the time to sit down with each of you and converse about your child.  Thank you for your partnership!  I greatly appreciate the time you took out of your busy schedules to sit down and discuss your child's academic, social, and spiritual growth.  This week is a full week and it is also the very first week in the month of October, so please continue reading to discover all that will be taking place both inside our classroom and right here at ACS. It's the Week of Parent-Teacher Conferences!

Hello Second Grade Families! This week begins the season of Fall and it is also the week of parent-teacher conferences.  I look forward to sitting with each of you to discuss the strengths of your child and how together we can foster your child's individual growth.  This week will also be a short school week due to the conferences.  On Thursday, the students will be dismissed at noon and there will be no school on Friday.  Please continue reading to discover all that will be taking place inside our classroom and right here at ACS school. Parent ~ Teacher Conferences

Hello Second Grade Families, Our Parent-Teacher Conferences are right around the corner.  Please know that I have been creating a tentative schedule for the conferences that are to take place on Thursday, September 27th and Friday, September 28th.  Once the tentative schedule is complete, I will e-mail you a copy.  I am hoping to have it sent to you by tomorrow. However, if the day and or time of the conference will not work with your schedule, I am available to meet after school on Monday the 24th, Tuesday, the 25th, Wednesday the 26th, and Thursday the 27th.  However, please know that my schedule is limited due to time constraints and having 24 wonderful families in which to conference with.  Please check your child's homework folders by Tuesday, September 18th for your family's scheduled conference time.  If the time that is scheduled does not work with your schedule, please contact me as soon as possible and I will do what I can to change the date and time.  Thank you in

Our First School Rosary!

Hello Second Grade Families, Our very first all school rosary will take place on Monday, September 10th at 2:20 p.m. inside St. Gabriel's Catholic Church.  It will be a wonderful way to begin our school week and to end our Monday.  Rosaries will be provided for every child, however, if your child would like to bring their very own rosary please feel free to do so.  Please continue reading to discover all that will be taking place both inside the second grade classroom and right here at ACS school.   Have a blessed week! Welcome to the wonderful month of September second grade families! Can you believe that your children have been in school for almost a month?  The time is flying by inside our second grade classroom and your children have acclimated to their new grade level, the procedures, the expectations, and the routine.  This week will be our very first week of having nightly homework.  The students will be expected to read nightly and to log their reading on the handout that is provided inside their homework packet.  Your children will also have one nightly assignment to complete which is also located inside their homework packet.  All homework assignments are due on Fridays.  Please know that the second graders will not have any spelling words to learn for this week  and they also will not have their regular reading lessons due to it being a short week.  Instead, the students will be focusing on their very first formal writing sample, understanding abc order to the second letter, and sequenc
