Trick- or- Treat!

Happy Halloween Second Grade Families! May you all have a wonderful "All Hallow's Eve" this coming Wednesday with your children.  Your children are going to have a spooktacular time in our class on Halloween!  All of the second graders, will be creating a small  trick-or-treat box to hold some treats that have been purchased.  Please know that all of the treats are gluten free and tree nut free (images of the treats can be found below).  Also, the students will be enjoying popcorn, juice boxes, and a Halloween video of either Spookley the Square Pumpkin, or The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.  Of course, the day after Halloween is "All Saint's Day!"  Please make sure to have your child return their assigned saint report along with the artistic creation of their water bottle saint.  The class is very excited for the saints to come marching into ACS!  Due to the holidays this week and Grandparent's Day on Friday, your children will have their Spelling test

Fall Into Learning!

Hello Second Grade Families, Welcome to the third week of October!  Can you believe that in less than a week and a half All Soul's Day will be here?  So, to prepare for the celebration of our blessed saints your children will each be researching the life of a saint that was assigned to them.  Please know that last Friday, every child was given a "Saint's Poster" and directions for designing and creating a saint utilizing an empty water bottle.  This assignment will be the only homework assignment that your child will have in addition to learning their weekly spelling words for their spelling test for the next two weeks.  I have attached the directions for this faith based homework assignment below.  The second graders and I are greatly looking forward to when our saints come marching into the second grade!
