Hello Second Grade Families, The students are on the countdown until our "Fun Run" on Friday and the second grade is doing a fantastic job in receiving pledges!  Thank you to each and everyone of you for your support of our ACS school fundraiser.  Every pledge gained will help to bridge the gap of school tuition.  Please know that it's not to late to register  your child on "funrun.com"   Please continue reading to discover what else will be taking place this week inside of the second grade classroom and right here at ACS school. Welcome Back Second Grade Families, I hope that you all enjoyed the extended four day weekend!  A weekend where our nation celebrates the history of our American President's.  Your children have completed all of their American history lessons, but we will take some time this week to discuss two of our nation's greatest leaders, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.  Please continue reading to discover what else will be taking place both in the second grade and right here at ACS. Happy Valentine's Day Second Grade Families! May you and your families enjoy celebrating the legacy of St. Valentine and the gift of love.  Love for our families, love of our neighbor, and love for our faith!  Please know that Ash Wednesday takes place on Valentine's Day this year, so your children will be celebrating Valentine's Day on Tuesday, February 13th at 1:30.  Mailboxes for your children to collect their Valentine's cards will be provided.  This week will also be a four day school week, and there will be no school on Friday, February 16th and Monday, February, 19th.  Please continue reading to see what else will be taking place this week in the second grade classroom and right here at ACS. Welcome to the month of February to our Second Grade Families, This week, your children will move back into their regular academic routine and the students will be introduced to writing in cursive!   Also note, that the students will be celebrating Valentine's Day on February 13th at around 1:30 in order to keep Ash Wednesday sacred on Valentine's Day.  Please have your child bring a Valentine for 22 students.  It is probably easiest if your child does not label the outside of their Valentine.  However, I'm certain some of your children may enjoy addressing the envelopes, so a class list will be going home this week just in case it should be needed.  On February 13th, the kids will enjoy decorating a heart shaped sugar cookie, passing out Valentine's, and enjoying a video as a class.  Please continue reading this newsletter to discover all that will be taking place this week both in our classroom and right here at ACS!
