Hello Spring Flowers!
Hello Second Grade Families,
Spring is in full bloom and the weather is really starting to warm up here in sunny Arizona!
May all of the sunshine and higher temperatures be a promise to bring brighter days up ahead.
We now have arrived in the last week of April and May is right around the corner. Please stay tuned to discover how we will proceed with the second graders "End of the Year Assessments." Also, if anyone needs for me to print off their child's assessments and to schedule a day and time to allow your family to pick up the printed off materials, please let me know. Otherwise, I have emailed the assessments directly to you and you may print them off at home when time permits. Your child will not begin the assessments until the week of May 4th. In order to best prepare the students for their upcoming math assessment, I am going to be choosing mathematical topics to provide a review of concepts for the children. Please continue reading to discover what your child's learning looks like for this week.
ELA
This week's story is the Chinese version of "Cinderella." My daughter loves the story of Yeh-Shen! The follow up story is the Cinderella story that we are much more familiar with. Perhaps your children may enjoy watching Disney's Cinderella after reading these two stories this week.

Would your child like to go on a virtual field trip?
I found a simple and fun way for your children to go on some virtual field trips of their own choosing through a site that is managed by a mother who "Home School's" her children. Families may choose to follow the steps below, so that your children can have a new learning experience in the weeks ahead.
First, click on the purple link below to download a "FREE" virtual field trip log for your child. I wanted to provide the field trip log to you, but it would be considered a copyright infringement.
Once your children have their field trip log ready, you may click on the next purple link and your child's adventure awaits! Please know that your child may want to make additional copies of the virtual field trip log so that they may visit many different destinations!
