Hello November!

Welcome to the beautiful month of November second grade families,
The month where we show gratitude for all of life's blessings!  This is the time of year when we take time out of our hectic lives to celebrate what we treasure most!  The gifts of faith, family, and friends.  Here's to a month of giving thanks!  Please continue reading to see what lies ahead this week in the second grade classroom and right here at ACS.

ELA ~ Our language arts lessons from last week will be continued this week because we did not complete all of the content.  However, the students will have a new "Spelling list" that will be located inside their agendas.  This week's list will also focus on contractions.

Science ~   This week, the students will continue their lessons on animal traits, habitats, and life cycles.
STREAM ~ Your children will have a STREAM lesson this week where they will work in cooperative groups to engineer a "perch" for an assigned "fuzzy critter."  After the students complete their engineering lesson, they will be asked the following question,  "What was the purpose for creating a perch for your furry friend?"  This will lead the children into our lessons on habitats.  It will also allow your children to have a better understanding of why animals live in specific habitats.

Religion ~ The students will continue to  learn and practice "The Examination of Conscience" to prepare them for the sacrament of Reconciliation.  The students will continue to focus on the lives of the saints this week!

The students will pray during a variety of times throughout our school day.

The students will attend their monthly "Rosary" on Monday, November 6th at 2:15 inside St. Gabriel's Church.
