Welcome to 2018!
Happy New Year Second Grade Families!
I hope this newsletter finds you well rested and excited for the wonderful year that lies ahead. This week, the second graders are going to begin their week by organizing their desks, cubbies, and materials to assist them in the skill of learning how to be organized learners! Also, the students are going to be introduced to a very engaging website that is called "Class Dojo." This site has it all! There are short videos to assist the kids in the areas of perseverance, empathy, gratitude, mindfulness and embracing a "growth mindset." I can also send quick daily messages to parents through "Class Dojo." As a parent, you can also view your child's daily behavior choices that took place during the day. Please know that your child will be coming home with a parent invitation, so that you can sign up online to receive any "Class Dojo" messages that I send out to the second graders and their families. It's such an awesome website and I have utilized it for the last 3 years. I hope that both you and your children will enjoy it too! Please continue reading to find out what else will be taking place this week in the second grade and right here at ACS.
