He Has Risen!

Happy Easter Second Grade Families and Welcome Back!
I hope that you and your families had a very blessed Easter and a wonderfully relaxing Spring Break!  May the resurrection of Christ inspire us all to work towards entering God's kingdom through faith, hope, and love!  Please continue to read our weekly newsletter to discover all that will be taking place this week in our second grade classroom and right here at ACS.

Homework:
To end our school year, the second grade homework will be uniquely different.  This week, your children will not have any homework to assist them in reacclimatizing to being back at school.  However, on Thursday, the students are going to be assigned a scientist that contributed to our world in which to study.  The children will need to find a book to read on their famous scientist.  Please know that the children are able to check out books from our classroom library, as well as, our school library.  The students may also choose to purchase a book from a book seller, such as, Barnes and Noble, to assist them in learning about their assigned scientist.  Beginning next week, every student will have a uniquely different reading log that they will use to summarize what they are learning through their reading of their historical scientific figure.  Beginning on April 30, 2018, the children will begin writing a report during our class time about the scientist they have been researching.   This will serve as our homework for the remainder of the year.  However, the students will still have their weekly Spelling tests to prepare for and I will also send home "Unhomework" nightly assignments that are completely optional should your child need some enrichment activities at home.
