Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day to all of our Second Grade Moms!!!
I hope that you and your family were able to enjoy a lovely day celebrating all that you selflessly do to serve your families.
This week, we will be wrapping up our basic learning for this school year and will be simplifying the daily schedule. As always, I will provide optional activities to serve the families who would like for their children to take on more academic content.
Please know that beginning on May 13th, all of our second grade families may stop by ACS to drop off their child's end of the year reading/writing and math assessments. There is a "turquoise" basket that has been placed on a table outside of the classroom where parents may place their child's assessments. Also, on the blue table outside of our classroom, I have prepared an end of the year gift for every single second grader. Each gift is labeled with your child's name on it. The items are to assist your child in celebrating a successful year of learning and growing! In fact, please get ready to have an end of the year "Zoom" celebration! Your child may even want to wear some of the items inside their "summer buckets" to our end of the year "Zoom" party! Below you will find the information to our Hawaiian themed "Zoom" party!
Megan Connell is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Would your child like to go on a virtual field trip?
I found a simple and fun way for your children to go on some virtual field trips of their own choosing through a site that is managed by a mother who "Home School's" her children. Families may choose to follow the steps below, so that your children can have a new learning experience in the weeks ahead.
First, click on the link below to download a "FREE" virtual field trip log for your child. I wanted to provide the field trip log to you, but it would be considered a copyright infringement.
Once your children have their field trip log ready, you may click on the next link and your child's adventure awaits! Please know that your child may want to make additional copies of the virtual field trip log so that they may visit many different destinations!
Your child has access to the following websites:
- IXL ~ Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies
- ESpark ~ Math and Language Arts
- Tumble Books ~ Free Online Reading (Just click on the link below)
