Who's Ready to Learn?

 Hello Second Grade Families!

Welcome back from your four day weekend.  I hope that you were able to savor the extra few days off from your schedules.  The second graders are going to hit the ground running and begin our regular learning schedule when they arrive at school on Tuesday morning.  This week, the second graders will be wrapping up their Social Studies unit on Geography and will begin a brand new unit utilizing their "Go Math" series.  Also, the second graders will be enjoying the daily "Rocktober Fest" activities which is this year's school wide fundraising theme.   Don't forget to sign up your child and participate in the fundraising adventure at funrun.com

Please continue reading to discover everything that will be taking place both inside our second grade classroom and right here at ACS.

Religion

The students will utilize the "Jesus Our Life" religion series focusing on "God is Offended." The lesson this week is one of many lessons that will prepare the children for the sacrament of Reconciliation.  Unfortunately, our class was unable to complete this lesson last week, and so, the chapter will be completed by the end of this week.

The students will be attending Mass as a school community on Wednesday, October 14th at 8:15 am.

The students will pray throughout their school day and this includes at daily Pledge/Prayer, before lunch, and prior to dismissal.

The second graders will continue learning the prayer for the intercession of St. Michael the Archangel per Father Chad's request.  All of the ACS students will be saying the prayer each time we attend Mass on Wednesday mornings and in our second grade classroom.
